Leaving FanDuel

Highlight Reel

Take off your cap and acknowledge the crowd. We’re proud of all that you accomplished at FanDuel, and we’re sad to see you go. Your core benefits, like medical, dental, and vision insurance, end on the last day of your last month of employment. Other benefits end on your last day. And some can go with you. If you still need some time to transition, you have options to continue or convert your coverage.

COBRA Continuation Coverage

You know how the feds love their acronyms. COBRA isn’t a cool snake, but a law called the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act. Don’t worry, you don’t need to remember that. Here’s all you need to know.

  1. COBRA allows you to pay the full cost of some FanDuel benefits to keep the same coverage—deductibles, copays, and covered dependents—that you had while employed here, including medical, dental, vision, and your Health Care FSA.
  2. You must enroll on HealthEquity within 60 days of the date your coverage ends.
  3. You pay 100% of the premium, plus a 2% administrative fee. Coverage won’t begin until you’ve paid for the month in full.

Health Insurance Exchange

Before you hurry to enroll in COBRA continuation coverage, keep in mind that the full cost of coverage is usually expensive without FanDuel’s heavy subsidy. Check the Health Insurance Marketplace first to see if a different plan makes more sense for you and your family.

Other Benefits

Life and AD&D

If enrolled, you have the option to port or convert your life and AD&D insurance. Porting means to continue your current coverage. Converting means to change your policy to a whole life policy. Lincoln Financial Group will mail you details about porting or converting your life and AD&D insurance.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Coverage ends on your last day of employment. Expenses you incur after your last day at FanDuel are not eligible. One exception with the Health Care FSA: Expenses you incur after your last day at FanDuel are eligible only if you enroll in COBRA continuation coverage.

Commuter Benefits

Coverage ends on your last day of employment. You forfeit any unused amount after 180 days.

Health Savings Account

You can take the whole balance with you, including FanDuel’s contributions. Payroll deductions end on your last day of employment.

401(k)

You can take 100% of your contributions, plus any amount of FanDuel’s contributions that have vested (you’re fully vested after four years of employment). Payroll deductions end on your last day of employment.
