Virtual Care
Highlight Reel
Dragging yourself out of bed when you’re sick can feel like a chore or, depending on how sick you are, like climbing Mount Everest. So, stay put! Make a cup of tea, pull up your blankets, and use one of the telehealth options available to you. The doctor will see you now.
Care Anywhere
Between constant coughing in the waiting room and year-old magazines with germs all over them, the doctor’s office can be a hassle. There’s crud in your nose. A small claims court show is on the TV. And didn’t you fill out this paperwork last time?
It’s important to see the doctor when you need care. But you can often avoid the actual doctor’s office. All you need to take advantage of your virtual care options is an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or mobile device. Your options depend on which medical plan you have.
LiveHealth Online
If you’re enrolled in an Anthem plan, you can use LiveHealth Online as a replacement for some urgent care services. With LiveHealth Online, an appointment with a board-certified physician is always a few minutes away. It’s best used for easily treated conditions, like pinkeye, a cold, the flu, rashes, and allergies. Visits are just a $10 copay (except for the Consumer Advantage with HSA plan).
Visit the LiveHealth Online website or mobile app to get started. Pick the state you’re in, and answer a few questions to set up your account.
Virtual Primary Care
You can access Virtual Primary Care through the Sydney Health app if you’re enrolled in any of the Anthem plans. It’s free if you’re enrolled in the $500 PPO, $1,500 PPO, or EPO. The IRS requires members of the Consumer Advantage with HSA to pay a small amount.
Anthem’s Virtual Primary Care allows you to access primary care services, including annual exams, all from your mobile device. Just download the app and sign up.
Kaiser telehealth
If you’re enrolled in the Kaiser HMO plan, you can take advantage of Kaiser’s Telehealth program at no additional cost. Just create an account, download the Kaiser app, and schedule your appointment.
Virtual Counseling for Mental Health
Use Talkspace to connect virtually with a behavioral health clinician or medical professional. Find out more about Talkspace and other benefits FanDuel offers to help keep your head in the game with our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
It’s not for everything
Telehealth is a convenient option for many medical issues, but it has its limits. You can’t get stitches through a webcam, so an urgent care facility may be the right call in some situations. And, if you need serious medical care ASAP, skip the laptop, and go to the emergency room.
